Mitchell Shier is a Multi-instrumentalist, Producer, Composer and Audio Engineer with a Bachelor of Audio Engineering at Perth’s School of Audio Engineering (SAE).

 

Mitchell has always been passionate about music and the intricacies of composition, production and performance. He began his music journey with the guitar in primary school and went on to study Contemporary Music at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) where he honed his performance skills and began learning how to produce music.

 

He began studying voice in 2015, and has since performed at various performance venues around Perth as both a guitarist, and vocalist; Notably Ellington Jazz Club, Crown Casino, Charles Hotel, Subiaco Hotel, Pirate Bar and the annual Joondalup Music Festival.

 

With his strong background in music theory and performance, transitioning into music production seemed to be the perfect next step.

 

Mitchell has immersed himself in the world of Music Production and engages in all facets of Sound Engineering and composition. Working on independent films as a location sound mixer, sound effects producer, film scorer and mix engineer. As well as recording bands, voice artists, producing SFX and editing for radio at RTR FM.

Beyond film and radio, he has also created, produced and mixed tracks for events and theatre.
